Lorde Packs them in at Ottawa Folkfest

by

On September 11th, the Ottawa Folk Festival hosted one of the hottest names in music right now, Lorde. This talented young artist from New Zealand is not even 18 years old, yet she has topped the pop charts in several countries and has a massively successful album. Popularity does not always equal quality but in the case of Lorde I think all of her accolades are deserved. She has created her own style of music and is already a solid songwriter. Now having seen her perform live twice in a little over a month (Osheaga and Folkfest), I can say she is also a very talented performer. She doesn’t only sound awesome on stage, but she performs with confidence and charisma. It’s simply very hard not to love her, and the audience loved every minute of her show. Lorde’s addition resulted in Folkfest having its largest attendance, and she wasn’t even the final act of the night!

Here are some of my favourite photos. Lorde, I promise, no Photoshop!
