On Day 3 I knew I wanted to get in early to check out SZA. Unfortunately I encountered a huge lineup at the gate and missed the first half of the set. The second half was excellent and I will try to catch them again on my next opportunity.
After SZA I did not know artists in the next couple hours. After a bit of research I decided to check out Ryn Weaver next. My research paid off and I celebrated by adding some Ryn Weaver music to my library after Osheaga.
I was able to catch a few songs by James Bay before I had to switch stages. I liked what I heard and have decided to make a effort to see him again on my next opportunity. I was rushing to get to the back stages for Glass Animals. They were one of the bands I researched upon seeing Osheaga’s schedule that I just fell in love with. They were ranked high on my must see list and their live act did not disappoint. Although it did mean I missed Gary Clark Jr. who I love. I would rank that as one of the top 3 acts I missed I wish I could have gone to.
I stayed on the back stages for quite a string of acts, next up was Ms Mr, who entertained the crowd with their high energy performance. They were followed by Sylvan Esso. Sylvan Esso I discovered a few months before Osheaga posted their schedule but I was very happy to see her name on the list. She was ranked very high on my must see list. The fact I had seen Future Islands a couple weeks ago in Ottawa made the conflict a little easier to bare, but they are also excellent.
Next I caught Charli XCX whose show was a blast. I had seen her open for another artist at Metropolis a couple years earlier so I knew she would be good.
