Platinum Blonde pictorial – December 26th, 2015

by

Over the holidays, a quick trip to Toronto included an excursion to see Platinum Blonde perform at Danforth Music Hall on Boxing Day.  The set spanned several decades of music, thick with memorable selections from albums past and balanced with several songs from their last release Now & Never (2012). As hinted at on the band’s Facebook page prior to the event, the night had an infusion of new material, including two songs Mark Holmes performed acoustically for very receptive crowd.  Enthusiasm was evident from both the band themselves and the 600-some crowd, ever engaged in singing and dancing along while the evening unfolded, cascading to an encore featuring the mid-80’s chart-topper Crying Over You.

And yes I was one of those singing, possibly loudly, along.

The Standstills, comprised of Renee Couture and Jonny Fox of Oshawa, ON, opened the evening. Their set featured songs from their latest release “From the Devil’s Porch”.
