ELBRÅNO Rock Out The Horn, UK (photo essay)

by

ELBRÅNO completely rocked out The Horn in St Albans last Wednesday with their take on Groove Metal.

ELBRÅNO’s bio makes a really interesting read. Alex, the lead singer, is from Norway and was influenced by Hard Rock and Blues. Marios, from Greece, is the bassist who brings on the element of Stoner Rock. Bruno has been a drummer in Death Metal bands in Brazil. They all met in London in 2012 and after a deep debate about their musical influences, such as Metallica and Joe Bonamassa, they decided to experiment with their varied styles and see what happens.

ELBRÅNO live at The Horn

Leap forward five years and they’ve just released their LP, Agora, available on Amazon, iTunes and Spotify. Judging by their performance at The Horn, their album is sure to do well.
The opening song “Euphoria Warrior”, which they played midway through their set is ELBRÅNO’s take on how some societies are transformed through money and greed, and how people start to neglect things they once cared about.

Being second on the bill of four that night, we were given a relatively short, but extremely loud and sweet session. Closing up with “Slickback Anonymous”, I could have happily stood and watched their energetic display and listened to the strong guitar rifts and enticing vocals for much longer.

You can catch ELBRÅNO at Camden Rocks Presents on the 15th of April at Proud Camden or 16th June at The Black Heart in Camden.
