SXSW 2017 Memories – Lewis Watson

by

Since 2015, we have asked independent artists to share their favorite memories from their time at SXSW. In just a couple of years, this project has become one of our most popular features thanks to the growing interests of bands and singers from around the world. Forty-five artists participated in this year’s edition, including Lewis Watson.

One of the most popular UK singer-songwriters, Watson is a blend of Hozier and Passenger. From intimate folk ballads to soaring folk-rock anthems, Watson has become a must-see artist across Europe, and his fanbase is growing in North America. After attending SXSW, he just might be sticking around these parts a little longer.

The food! I absolutely loved the food!! The wings from Gus’s Fried Chicken, Torchy’s Tacos, and the massive pancakes from Java Cafe. They were all so, so good!

I really loved the gig. I played in St. David’s Church and was worried that I might have to fight with a loud crowd, but they were so respectful and quiet. The room sounded amazing, and I had a really great time. I can’t wait to come back!

I nearly forgot to mention….I chatted to Zac from Hanson! He was pretty cool too, he’s a good dude!
