orval_prophetOrval Prophet (an inductee into the Ottawa Country Music Hall of Fame) was born in Edwards Ontario in 1922. He had quite the storied career, and a few cool stage names (he was also known as Johnny Six!), as he sang around Ontario, and had some tours around the United States with Wilf Carter. Unfortunately, he was also riddled with health problems, having a series of heart attacks over the years, and refusing to slow down his touring schedule. He passed away in 1984, as the result of yet another attack.

As it explains on the back of this Greatest Hits LP, he lost his wife, Lois, in 1969. The song Lois and Me is obviously dedicated to her, and it’s hard to listen to the track.
