This blog describes Vancouver’s Lost Durangos as a cowpunk band, one example of a very ’80s mashup of country and punk which included bands like Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper, Social Distortion and The Gun Club. And they’ve definitely got more than a touch of that, but there’s a sunnier, new wave edge to their sound that brings to mind bands like The Go-Gos or The Pretenders.

Evil Town, a solid LP from start to finish, was recorded in Vancouver and Burnaby, B.C. in 1986. The band consisted of Greg Potter (guitar, vocals), Kelly Brock (vocals), Buck Cherry (guitar, vocals), Matt Rickson (bass, vocals) and Paul de Bourcier (drums). “Sins Of The Father” is a jangly rave-up with lead vocals by Brock, a big guitar and drum break, and a live-party-in-the-studio vibe.
