Mundo Musique: Music Video Premiere, Ummagma’s “The Road to Lees”

by

I first wrote about the Canadian-Ukrainian dreampop duo Ummagma in November, and you can read my write up here (you’ll have to scroll down).  Today, they are premiering their latest video, for the hypnotic electronic track “The Road to Lees” which features a dream-like kaleidoscopic look at “the good old days” of Americana.

The video was created by videographer Jason Sheppard, who says  “We can consider a happier place through reminiscing, childhood memories, a time forgotten. In dreams, we see places we’ve been and the people we’ve seen.” Shauna McLarnon of Ummagma described it by saying “unfortunately, apart from that which was familial or community-based, what we knew as the good old days did indeed seem ‘real’, but it was based on a faulty foundation, which we’re only hearing about now. Just the same, this is still a happy place for many.”

Ummagma has a lot in the works for 2014, including an album, Lama Remixes, due out May 16.
