Walk through the Byward Market and you’ll see a handful of street performers entertaining in exchange for a little change. Kent from Music Underground Ottawa came up with the idea of “reverse busking” which involves asking passers-by to play a song while being recorded in exchange for a chance to win a guitar and a public stage. At the end of the summer one name will be picked at random and that person will walk away with an acoustic-electric Seagull guitar, handmade in La Patrie, Québec!
Congratulations to last year’s winner, Henry, who won a Seagull folk guitar valued at $800.
Kent will be hanging out at 3 Second Avenue on Saturday, May 24th during the Great Glebe Garage Sale. Whether you’re an emerging artist or a hobby musician, go ahead and show your support for the local community!
