RBC Bluesfest Revue: Jonathan Becker & The North Fields

Jonathan Becker has been performing since 2005, and as himself since 2009. He, along with his band, The North Fields bring post-punk and folk music together, along with Becker’s raspy vocals that are almost a growl. It’s a really cool blend, and I really dig it, think Frank Turner, but more post-punk than just straight punk. They have two EPs on their bandcamp, Old Downs, from 2012 and The North Fields from January of this year. The North Fields EP leans more towards post-punk, while Old Towns feels a lot folkier.
