Chicago duo Gold Cult released their debut EP, the 5 track Been Still in January of 2013. The music of Gold Cult can be described as a combination of dream-pop and jazz.  Next week, on July 8, they will release two new singles, “Round and Round” and “Lafayette”.  Both singles are very different sounding.  “Round and Round” is an experimental track, deeply rooted in Jazz. It feels a little disorganized, but it’s a great track that really kicks into gear about halfway through. “Lafayette”, however is a fantastic, groovy instrumental with some really cool and clean guitar and some great bass work.  Both songs are being released ahead of an eventual LP release, which is currently planned to be out before the end of the year.

Until then, you can check out the single, “Lafayette” below, and check out their bandcamp where you can grab some singles as well as their EP Been Still.
