Joey Ramone wrote “I Got Knocked Down (But I’ll Get Up)” when he was dying from Lymphoma, the same disease that took School of Seven Bells’ Benjamin Curtis’ life in 2013.  This cover was recorded during Curtis’ time in the hospital on his laptop with Alejandra Deheza recording vocals in a studio while FaceTiming Benjamin. It’s a completely different, yet beautiful take on the song, and it’s got some really great synthesizer work, and beautiful vocals. And while it’s a beautiful song it’s sad to hear a track like this knowing it was the last thing ever produced by an artist who left us way too soon.  Deheza did say there will be a new School of Seven Bells album full of music Curtis wrote and recorded prior to his death.  You can stream the track below, or watch the music video by clicking here.
