Closer to home, throwback rockers (throwback in terms of the ’90s and early 2000s) Waterbodies are in the midst of producing a new record, and they recently released a new single, “What the French Call ‘Les Incompétents'”. It’s part of Arctic Monkeys, part Fall Out Boy. It’s a pretty cool, rock track from the St. Catherines, Ontario trio.
And what makes us excited about this band is they don’t take themselves seriously. As they wrote to us in sharing this track and their recording sessions, “…”What the French Call ‘Les Incompétents'” was inspired by Home Alone, and fueled by pizza hut and dominos. A mid-90s wet dream of excess! We wrote a bunch of songs and then our pal Brian brought his shit over from Buffalo to record the songs aaaaaaaaaaand that’s about it. Memories can be fuzzy.”
This description along should be on the liner notes of their new record. We look forward to listening to it!
