Fort Worth, Texas singer and guitarist Leon Bridges released two incredible tracks last week, “Coming Home” and “Better Man”. It’s 100% authentic throwback soul, and rhythm and blues. There has been a bit of a modern revival with artists like Gary Clark Jr, but Bridges’ music feels more like early Sam Cooke, production included. And that’s not a bad thing, it sounds perfect. There’s not much info around about Bridges, but these songs speak volumes. They’re both produced by Austin Jenkins and Josh Block of White Denim, who I believe assisted with his upcoming album.
