In 2012, Winston Yellen – a.k.a. Night Beds – released a melodic, indie folk-pop album that was lush and romantic. Last week, he released his first single in more than a year, but “Me Liquor and God” sees Yellen experiment with electronic and smooth R&B textures (think How to Dress Well). Despite the new sound, Yellen retained many of the trademarks of his past work, from his outstanding voice to the dreamy quality of the music. Even with “Me Liquor and God”, which is a song about one descending into debauchery, Yellen still is able romanticize one’s fall from grace. It’s a terrific new track, representing, potentially, an exciting new direction.

The new single is below. You can follow Yellen on his different social media accounts for updates on his future work.
