Yesterday, Katie Crutchfield, the creative force behind Waxahatchee officially announced details about her upcoming record, Ivy Tripp. Ivy Tripp will be released on April 7th of this year. Crutchfield also shared “Air” the first single off Ivy Tripp. Judging only by that one song, it seems like Ivy Tripp may sound quite a bit different than 2013’s Cerulean Salt. There’s some synth on “Air”, and the production feels a bit smoother than anything on Cerulean Salt. However, it’s still the Waxahatchee we fell in love with, Crutchfield’s harmonies and songwriting shine through, possibly stronger than ever.
