“Fever” is from Toronto-based, indie psych-rock band Mexican Slang. It’s a buzzy, blazing single that fits right in with their discography, which consists of several EPs released over the past three years. The highlight is the post-punk, anthemic, mind-bending roller coaster called Inside the Velvet Castle. The EP commences with the aptly named “Blisters” before mellowing out to some trippy psych-rock, highlighted by “Halycon”. Hear the four tracks below. Pick up the EP on Bandcamp, iTunes, and Amazon.
They’re currently on tour, including a stop at SXSW. Tour dates are below.
Mexican Slang are Annabelle Lee (guitar/vocals), Jimmy Tony Billy (bass), and Den Holm (drums)
You can find “Fever” on the March 13th Edition of the Weekend Showcase, which is a weekly playlist of some of the best new music from the indie world.
