“Talking with Strangers” is the new single from Santa Ana, California singer-songwriter Miya Folick. The song is remarkable, gut-wrenching, and devastatingly beautiful. The subtle instrumentation, the building vocals, and the honest songwriting are reminiscent of two of our favorite artists – TORRES and Angel Olsen. It is also reminiscent of one of our favorite and brilliant Hidden Gems – Esther Joy Lane.
The single is the title track from her forthcoming EP, although, at the time of this writing, we’re not sure when the album will drop. Until then, we’ll enjoy this track as well as some earlier tracks, including from her startling Blue Whale EP (order on iTunes).
