Big Mountain County must be a pretty unique band in their country. Originally from Sicily, the southern island of Italy, Big Mountain County have adopted an indie-rock sound as oppose to the electronic, dance, and electro-pop (and of course opera) that Italy is renowned for. Their indie rock is fun, a bit quirky, and highly catchy. Their roots seem to be embedded in the music of Richard Swift, like “1945”, which is from their new album, Breaking Sound. The entire album, for that matter, is pretty awesome, and you can hear a couple of tracks below. You can get the album on iTunes or hear it on SoundCloud.

Or take a listen to “1945” on the May 1st Edition of the Weekend Showcase.
