Among the wave of singer-songwriters coming from Australia, Esther Holt is a little different. She doesn’t dabble in indie or electro-pop or the jangle-pop for which her hometown of Melbourne is renowned. Instead, she focuses on creating moving, lush indie-folk. What makes her music standout is that her delicate voice adds a haunting layer to the dramatic music she makes, as evidenced by her new single “By Water”, a stunning, gorgeous track. The song is the lead single from her forthcoming EP, due out later this year. The video for the track is also below.
