Zahed Sultan is about to change your perception about music from the Middle East. The Kuwaiti creates an electrifying brand of electro-gypsy-punk-alternative-rock. His latest single, “Democrazy”, is reminiscent of Gogol Bordello both musically and lyrically. It’s a pretty awesome track that has us extremely interested in his future projects.
To hear his combination of electronic and rock, take a listen to “Hakatha”, which is below. It’s an extremely innovative approach to music and just a fantastic song. “Ghazi” is mostly an instrumental track, but it showcases Sultan’s ability to play with subtle and more explicit textures to create a wonderful sound.
If you would like to hear more new music, check out the May 8th Edition of the Weekend Showcase, which has 21 total songs from around the world including Sultan’s “Democrazy”.
