Back in March, we had the honour of posting the premiere to Disraeli Gears‘ debut single, “Born and Bred”. The single introduced us to the haunting and brooding indie rock of the young London-based band. They’ve returned with their second single, the equally stunning “Cuckoo”. With touches of jazz, the fickle strums of the bass, and the coo-ing voice of Teia Fregona, the single is sultry and dramatic. It has the brilliance of Nadine Shah in being able to take a dramatic sound yet make it engaging.

“Cuckoo” is the second single from Disraeli Gears’ forthcoming album, which hopefully will be out some time this year or early in 2016.

You can also hear “Cuckoo” as part of the May 29th Edition of the Weekend Showcase, a playlist of music from new bands from around the globe.
