Fritz Montana are a young, blues-rock trio from San Francisco. David Marshall (guitar, vocals), Kevin Logan (bass), and Matthew Hagarty (drums) formed the band back in 2013 out of a common love for old-fashion blues-rock-roots music. They released two EPs – their debut self-titled EP in 2013 followed by 2014’s Scaredy Cat and now have returned with a split single called Single. On it is the catchy and rocking “Call to Arms” that is reminiscent of the rock of the southern States. The video, which is below, shows that the young men have some serious skills.  The other side of the single is “I’m Not The Same”, which has a soulful vibe and resonates of the music of the ’70s.

Just how good are these guys? They’ve opened for Vampire Weekend, Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age, and Arctic Monkeys. This weekend, they’ll be performing at the BottleRock Napa Valley Festival, so if you’re in the area catch their Saturday afternoon set.

If you can’t make it, then take a listen to the May 29th Edition of the Weekend Showcase, a playlist of new songs from around the world that includes “Call to Arms”.
