Old Stereo – “Angel”

by

Old Stereo BandLast year, we got to know Old Stereo a little bit, as they were one of approximately 25 bands performing at the RBC Ottawa Bluesfest. At the time, they had a really great, but raw sound. A year later, their sound has been fine-tuned, which comes with more experience working with one another. They’ve released a new single, “Angel”, which exemplifies the cleaner sound, but they haven’t compromised their infectious soul and R&B foundations. In many ways, the echoes of another great Canadian soul-funk-R&B group, The Julian Taylor Band.

“Angel” is the lead single of their forthcoming new EP, What’s It All About. No word on the release date, but in the time the terrific “Angel” will keep us occupied. The song can also be downloaded for free on Bandcamp.

Old Stereo are from Ottawa, Canada. The band consists of Philippe Dunac (guitar/vocals); Shaun Desjardins (guitar); Andrew Bryant (bass); and Michel Delage (drums).

You can also find “Angel” on the June 5th Edition of The Weekend Showcase, a weekly playlist of new music from around the world.
