Pow Pow Kids – “Pow Pow Theme”

by

Pow Pow KidsSome of the best artists and bands around are those who don’t take themselves too seriously, like Mac DeMarco, for example. Living by that same philosophy are newcomers Pow Pow Kids, a quartet based out of Melbourne, Australia. They’ve released their debut single, “Pow Pow Theme”, which won’t awe lyrically but the quick, punk-pop song is zany and fun. It has a feel of a Japanese game show.

And although this is their first song, they are “Australia’s best favourite self-proclaimed supergroup”. Of course, Pow Pow Kids are just joking, although maybe one day the statement will be realized.

The video for “Pow Pow Theme” is below. They apparently have other songs available, including about spilling wine on one’s shirt and trying to quit smoking. Ah, to be young, free, and innocent!

You can hear “Pow Pow Theme” on the June 5th Edition of The Weekend Showcase.
