FANS - If God Is RealThis year has seen some awesome indie-rock bands emerge and reach mid-level stardom, like Royal Blood and Viet Cong. However, we’re still waiting for some fuzzy guitar-driven bands to achieve similar success; bands that go beyond My Bloody Valentine. Maybe West Yorkshire band FANS will be the first to breakthrough.

This week, they released their new single “If God Is Real”. It’s a song that includes some fuzzed-out shoegaze, the post-industrial sounds of 1970s Manchester, a pulsating bass line, and some precise drumming, resulting in a superb track. It’s the type of song that could act as a gateway into the inner and deeper workings of Joy Division. However, we’re not sure that was intentional or not. We do know that “If God Is Real” is the lead single from the FANS’ forthcoming EP, Born Into, which is expected to drop late summer or early autumn. The album was produced by Matt Peel, who was also responsible for Eagulls’ awesome 2014 debut.

FANS have also released a couple of other singles over the past year, including the rocking “Another Way”, which is below. The song echoes of The Jesus and Mary Chain.

As you wait for the EP release, hear “If God Is Real” and twenty-one other songs playing on the June 26th Edition of the Weekend Showcase. Discover some new, emerging bands and hear their great new singles.
