Hailing from Växjö, Sweden is indie-/electro-pop band Kinetics. They’ve quickly emerged as a growing indie act in their home country, recognized for their ability to create catchy hooks not just with classic instruments but also through their clever use of synths and electronics. Their latest single, “Yank Me Out of Neutral”, is the culmination of the years of perfecting their craft. It’s an anthemic, euphoric single with a chorus that just grabs hold of you. The melodic sound is reminiscent of UK band Gengahr.
However, Kinetics haven’t just limited themselves to boppy pop music. Last year, they released “The Ocean” that incorporated country and rock elements. The single is below. More of Kinetics’ music can be found on SoundCloud, including a pretty good cover of Billy Bragg’s “New England”.
Kinetics are Fredrik Solfors, David Schagerström, Daniel Jakobsson, and Jesper Petersson.
Their single “Yank Me Out of Neutral” can be found the June 26th Edition of the Weekend Showcase, a weekly playlist that features new music from across the globe.
