Pompeya - Pasedena

Earlier this week, we premiered the debut EP by Saint Petersburg, Russia duo VEiiLA. Another band from Russia making waves in the vast country is indie dance-pop/new wave band Pompeya. They’ve now set their sights on breaking through in the US market, having recorded their latest album Real in Philadelphia and New York.

From the new album is “Pasedena”, an ’80s-inspired pop track that has the laid-back feel of the West Coast. The song isn’t about the city of Pasedena, but a relationship with someone from the city that is home to the Rose Bowl. As such, the song is quintessential ’80s. As a bonus track, hear “Liar” below, which further accentuates the retro style of Pompeya.

Real is out now via No Shame and can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon, and the No Shame store.

Pompeya are Daniil Brod, Denis Agafonov, and Alexander Lipsky.

Hear “Pasedena” on the June 26th Edition of the Weekend Showcase, which is a weekly playlist of new music from around the world. Discover some new, emerging bands and take a listen to their great new singles.
