Location: Belgium

Members: The Spectors are Marieke Hutsebaut, Maxiem Charlier, Hannah Vandenbussche, Emiel Van Den Abbeele, and Stefanie Mannaerts.

For those who like: The Breeders, Veronica Falls, My Bloody Valentine

Our take: The Spectors have made waves in Belgium, getting airplay on numerous blogs and radio stations. In addition, they’ve performed at a few festivals in Western European country. In March, they released their debut album, Lights Stay Close. “Like Sand” is the opening single from the album. With the shimmering, shoegaze-y guitars and the lush vocals of Hutsebaut and Charlier, the song scintillates in the night-time sky. “Like Sand” is a terrific introduction to this emerging band.

What’s next: Lights Stay Close is available now via PIAS Recording. It can be purchased at iTunes (Belgium site only) and eMusic (limited country distribution as well). The album can also be purchased at The Spectors’ Big Cartel page(thanks to the band for sharing). Their self-titled EP, which was released in 2014, can be purchased by everyone on iTunes and eMusic.
