Location: Austin, Texas, USA
Members: Reservations are Jana Horn, Paul Price, and Jason Baczynsk.
For those who like: Daughter, Annalibera, Violent Mae
Our take: There aren’t many songs that amaze us on first listen, but Reservations’ “Planet” is one of those. With the spectacular deep percussion work and the lush yet haunting vocals of frontwoman Jana Horn, “Planets” is a crushing and stunning single. It has the dark beauty of Daughter yet the redeeming innocence of Annalibera, who had one of our favorite albums of the early part of 2015. Besides the sound, what may be more remarkable is that Horn wrote the song when she was 19 years old. There’s something really special happening with Reservations.
Other News: In addition to releasing the single, Reservations shared the really cool, clay-mation video. It’s below. “Planet” is the lead single from Reservations’ forthcoming second album, Taking Time. It drops July 24. We can’t wait for it.
