Ottawa Bluesfest in Revue – Day 7

I started Day 7 of Ottawa Bluesfest with the Current Swell. I had seen them before, but I was surprised to find their stage performance was much stronger than the last time I had seen them, granted it has been a good number of years since I last saw them. They were a very pleasant surprise for me.

I followed the Current Swell with Chvrches who I do like very much but since I had seen them less than a year ago at Osheaga I decided to also catch some of Black Mountain. The last time Black Mountain played they were in a three way conflict and I missed them. They put on a high energy show and it was nice to be able to split two great acts although I wish I could have seen both complete sets!

For my choice of headliner I chose another act I discovered at Osheaga a couple years ago. Unlike Chrvches though, I did not know the Gaslight Anthem when I stumbled upon their act at Osheaga in 2013. It turned out to be one of those very pleasant surprises. I was looking forward to seeing them again at the 2014 Folk Fest but of course they had to cancel that performance. I am very happy that they were able to make it this time and it was one of my favourite performances of Bluesfest.
