Adult Films is comprised of Bassist/Vocalist (Max Greenhalgh of Inspired & The Sleep) and Drummer Ryan Mack. They are best buds since high school and got together in late 2014 with the purpose of finding a place for some of Greenhalgh’s homeless demos. The San Diego based duo have been gigging around town and we are sharing their debut single. The result includes catchy melodic hooks born of a pop track with an obvious dose of fuzzy rock.
The lyrics and songwriting are also right on par with the chorus of this track including “The only meaning to life is that of which you create”. We will be keeping an eye on this emerging duo.

London’s Cat Bear Tree is set to release their new EP, Settled In Our Hearts, on Friday October 23. “Adult” is one of the singles off of the upcoming EP. The all girl trio comprised of Zoe Konez (guitarl/vocals), Claudia Mansaray (bass and vocals), and Sarah Smith (drums and vocals) have the potential to move into the company of great all girl bands including L7 and Sleater-Kinney.
“Adult” is probably their most pop influenced track but their new sound continues to improve and evolve over their beginning offerings included in Let’s Share Hearts which was definitely more punk driven. We look forward to the evolution of Cat Bear Tree and be on the look out for their new EP next month.

DENNY is from Minneapolis and they are creating melodic pop/rock that is definitely sing-along worthy. “Boyfriend” is the debut track from the band. If you dig a mix of pop/rock/synth and addicting harmonies, DENNY is for you.
The trio is comprised of Alex, Jack and Sully and they mysteriously do not want to show their faces as every Facebook photo has their faces covered up. We are intrigued by their debut single and we look forward to hearing more from the elusive and promising trio.

Freja (England) – “Ghosts In The Snow”
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/224854158″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”120″ iframe=”true” /]
Freja is a young singer-songwriter who creates delicately minimalist music with a beautiful story behind it. Her debut EP Ghosts is a celebration of Freja’s youth, covering themes of love, loss and life mixed with folklore and elements of gothic romance.
“Ghosts In The Snow” is a beautiful track that reels you in with her authentic style of vocals and storytelling. Freja started writing songs at the age of nine with dreams of starting a rock band. Now at just 20 years old, Ghosts is an ode to her coming of age. For the EP, she chose her four favourite songs she’d written as a teenager. Ghosts is out on November 27th via ShimmerSun Music.
We look forward to hearing more from this emerging singer-songwriter.
Ofelia K (USA) – “Gone”
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/224964917″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”120″ iframe=”true” /]
We are no doubt fans of Ofelia K, after sharing her single “White T-Shirt”, we have been patiently awaiting her debut EP. With “Gone” she takes a step back and strips back the instrumentation and the focus is on her mesmerizing voice. The LA based artist has a way of producing the type of tracks that command your full attention.
Ofelia shares a bit about the track “My producer/co-writer Dr Rosen Rosen played me a track he was messing around with that had a beautiful organ falling slightly in and out of tune. I was really obsessed with it and we began building “Gone” around that part. I love the sadness of the subject matter, mixed with the optimism of the instrumentation.”
We are super excited to hear more from this emerging singer-songwriter who is supported by South X Sea.
