Today we have a trio of covers for your listening pleasure. We hope you are sitting back and relaxing about to partake in a near overdose of turkey or ham.
First up is Brika. We are a little behind on posting this but it has gotten awesome response on Soundcloud and a stamp of approval from Shaggy himself. If anyone remembers the early 2000s and Shaggy’s hit “It Wasn’t Me”, enter Brika who has come in with a really cool cover for the 15 year old track. She stays very close to the original but her vocals bring a different element and it has simplistic production throughout. The Miami native is currently working on new material.

Next up is an amazing rework of CeCe Peniston’s “Finally”. Enter London artist REVILO with his debut track. The only thing I can compare it to is if an industrial band like Nine Inch Nails remade this 90s hit but had guest vocals reminiscent of Jeff Buckley. The song is as they describe it – completely re-imagined from the original. He does not disappoint on the chorus as Ms. Peniston has some amazing pipes and if she has heard it, I’m sure she would approve. We look forward to hearing new material from REVILO.

Our final cover to share is from NY based Tamper who honestly have the best cover versions. We have shared most of their recent round of covers because they keep an element of the original, but add in their own special touch that makes them glorious. The same is true from their newest cover of Brand New’s “Cleanser”. It is never easy to cover any song by Brand New yet Tamper still maintains the emotional feel to this song and also adds in subtle yet awesome production elements to improve on the construction of the song.
