ASHA – “Record Straight” (London, UK)

ASHA is a London based R&B singer who has been building buzz since releasing her first single “We Can Do This” about six months ago. Her vocals are strong and unique which immediately reels the listener in.
“Record Straight” is a great track that speaks to a few disrespectful and jealous men out there posing the question “Didn’t your mother ever set the record straight?”
We look forward to hearing more from an artist that has an awesome message for young women today: self-respect and self-empowerment all behind a catchy and danceable beat.
BLAJK – “French Class” (Toronto, Canada)
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/236492333″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”140″ iframe=”true” /]
We previously shared BLAJK’s latest single “Lost” and we were super impressed. We knew they were releasing another track this month, and here it is. BLAJK continues with their melodic formula that reminds a bit of The 1975 or The Neighbourhood meshed with awesome 80s new wave synth. “French Class” is airy, laid back and mesmerizing thanks to Jordan’s awesome vocals. We look forward to hearing more from this emerging and talented quintet.
BLAJK are Jordan Radics (vocals), Paul Doherty (guitar, production), Brent Gordon (guitar), Thomas Conrad (bass, keys), and Ray McTaggart (drums).

Cheatahs – “Freak Waves” (UK)
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/217815298″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”140″ iframe=”true” /]
Cheatahs have been making some awesome shoegaze influenced indie rock for a while now and they just released their sophomore LP Mythologies back in October via Wichita Recordings.
“Freak Waves” is off of their new LP and it’s totally worth sharing. The track is a perfect blend of garagey indie rock with just the right amount of shoegaze coming through.
Cheatahs is comprised of Nathan Hewitt – Vox/guitar, James Wignall – Vox/guitar/tapes/keyboards, Dean Reid – Bass/vox/keyboards, and Marc Raue – Drums/tapes/keyboards.

Mind The Journey – “Rose Colored Glasses” (Boston, MA USA)
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/235138312″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”140″ iframe=”true” /]
Mind The Journey is the brainchild of Boston’s Spencer Sabo. He is blending electronica, Psych, rock, synth pop and alternative all into an interesting experimental package. If you dig bands like The Flaming Lips or Neon Indian, Mind The Journey could be for you.
“Rose Colored Glasses” erupts into a flurry of psych rock under a bed of synth and takes you on a 4 minute trippy ride floating between rock, psych and plenty of reverb. “Rose Colored Glasses” is off of Sabo’s recently release Color In The Gray Machine which is self produced and recorded.
RKCB – “Lights Low”
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/235984998″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]
RKCB is an LA-based electronic duo comprised of Riley Knapp and Casey Barth. We have shared a few of their tracks previously, and “Lights Low” completes their Short Films EP.
The track is dreamy and laid back with a serious subject matter. The track speaks to those relationships that only have a physical element to it and lacks the true intimacy every relationship should have.
Even though the lyrics may be serious, the melody and tone still causes one to move about and embrace the beat.

Sugarmen – “Plastic Ocean” (Liverpool, UK)
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/230479109″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”140″ iframe=”true” /]
We previously shared Sugarmen’s track ‘Dirt’ back in May and we are super happy to hear another track by the talented punk influenced band. The UK quartet is perfectly poised to introduce an awesome blend of indie rock and punk influences reminiscent of The Clash to a wide audience with their so-far winning formula.
“Plastic Ocean” has a super catching melody that you won’t soon forget backed by angular guitars and powerful vocals. We look forward to hearing more Sugarmen.
Sugarmen are Luke Fenlon, Chay Heney, Sam McVann and Tom Shields.
