Today for CoverBack Thursday, we have a cover album to share. There are plenty of cover albums out there, mostly compilation cover albums for great artists from our recent past. Today we focus on Temporary Hero who has covered one of the greats, Chet Baker. His album titled simply CHET,  is one that adds modern electronic elements to the classics, ironically without any trumpets on the album aside from one track (Born To Be Blue/My Funny Valentine).

Temporary Hero is a bit of a mystery, he started making underground club records and going the direction of contemporary dance music. Temporary Hero has actually done two previous tribute albums, one to Frank Sinatra and another to Bing Crosby. We now have a mix of re-interpreted tracks by the legendary Chet Baker. There is also a specific website just for the album,

With his new cover album focusing on Chet Baker the vocalist, not the talented trumpet player he will always be known for, we are happy to share these tracks to possibly bring a few new younger fans to appreciate the classic musicians that have paved the way for today’s music to continue to thrive and evolve.

Top track interpretations from this album include “My Buddy”, “The Thrill is Gone”, “Time After Time” and “My Funny Valentine”. If you dig this entire cover album, it can be purchased over on i-Tunes.
