Last week, Sydney, Australia producer Kilter teamed up with electronic duo Porsches to release a feel-good, summery, electro-pop song, “Want 2”. Part of the release included a couple of remixes, including a slowed down, house version by fellow Sydney resident Castro. The remix, however, still retains the feel-good vibe of the original, making it a track for beach parties, late-night club outings, or just chilling out back at your pad. Hear the original track and the two remixes over on SoundCloud.

Secret Weapons – “Something New” (Haerts Remix)

Two rising talents in pop music are joined forces for an unexpected remix. Haerts has taken Secret Weapons‘ debut single “Something New” and “poppi-fied” it even further, if that’s possible. The remix resonates of the ’90s electronic-pop, music which was still based on pop arrangements and huge arias while adding a few textures to accentuate the melodies and harmonies. Leave it to a couple of pop stars to make a pop song sound even more poppy.

Small Black – “Boys Life” (Wild Nothing Remix)

As if Jack Tatum (a.k.a Wild Nothing) wasn’t busy enough getting ready for the launch of his new album, he decided to offer a really awesome remix of Small Black‘s “Boys Life”. This rendition takes the already great, original song and turns it into a vibrant, dizzying affair. This is just another example of Tatum’s immense talents.

HARLAW – “Wolf Eyes” (SEE TAI Remix)
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/243859945″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”160″ iframe=”true” /]
The remixes we enjoy the most are when two, under-the-radar artists get together. HARLAW is the project of Scottish singer-songwriter Ruth Granton, whose indie pop-rock style is reminiscent of Delaire. SEE TAI is Jamey See Tai, a multi-talented artist who dabbles in production work as well as photography. This remix is dazzling – an uptempo number that you could lose yourself in with its deep, hallow rhythms and HARLAW’s terrific voice. These two artists have great futures ahead of them.
