Bodywash

We receive many requests for premieres, and quite a few for cover songs as well. For us, the cover needs to be unique enough for us that we need to share it. Some of the best covers include keeping with the spirit of the original, but having the ability for the artist/band to shape it with their own, unique style to where we have no choice but to share it.

Today, we have one of those cover songs – a super lush and dreamy version of The Beach Boys’ “All I Wanna Do” by Montreal dream-pop band Bodywash, which we are pleased to premiere.

The original version already encompassed laid-back vibes, as The Beach Boys were well ahead of the curve in paving the way for dream-pop and shoegaze to be born and flourish. What Bodywash has done is transform “All I Wanna Do” into an amazing ethereal experience complete with running water, lush harmonies, and a beautiful background chorus. This atmospheric gem is the type of song you want to repeat over and over again.

This cover by Bodywash is just the tip of the iceberg. Their self-titled EP is filled with songs awashed in breathtaking melodies and scintillating harmonies – music that leaves you gazing at the brilliance of the stars. You can listen to the EP on SoundCloud or purchase via i-Tunes or on bandcamp.

Bodywash is comprised of Austin Pine (drums/percussion), Rosie Long Decter (vocals/synth), Tom Gould (bass), Chris Steward (vocals/guitar), and Adam MacPherson (guitar).
