I first saw Adam Baldwin perform as a solo artist in the Fall of 2013, opening for and then playing with Matt Mays at the Wakefield institution, Blacksheep Inn. Now several years since, I was pleased as punch to see he made his way back here on June 16th with a new album in hand.

Though officially available as of June 24th, fans were treated to an evening of new songs from No Telling When (Precisely Nineteen Eighty-Five), some tunes from his earlier self titled EP, and a cover or two. The stop in Ottawa at Mavericks was the inaugural show and although he couched the evening in that some words may not yet be committed to mind, nor had tour-readiness been acquired, the evening went seamlessly, broken guitar string notwithstanding. By looking about the crowd, a good time was had by all!

There are still a few tour dates back on the East coast which you should definitely check out if in the vicinity. Dartmouth has its share of talent of which Adam is one, and I’m not saying that just because I’m from there 🙂

The performance was supported by a double punch of Ottawa talent including Autumns Cannon and Crossing Jane.
