The Weekend Showcase 2.49 edition is the final one of 2016. It has been an exceptional year for independent music, and this final mega-playlist epitomizes everything we love about the songs we heard. Mind-altering rockers, psychedelia, and shoegaze. Thoughtful and socially conscious numbers. Hip-shaking indie pop. Masterful mosaics of sound that could not categorized. In short, there are 42 songs on this slightly condensed Weekend Showcase. The 10 countries represented are: Canada, Denmark, England, Germany, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, South Africa, Sweden, and the United States.
Beginning Monday, we will unveil our Favorite 50 Albums of the Year and our concert photographs to end 2016. The new year will commence with our expectations and anticipations for the next 365 days.
The playlist and tracklisting, as usual, follows the list of articles from the past week.
Thank you to the nearly 2500 artists we profiled this year for sharing your music. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year everyone.
