I’m not lying when I say I’ve fallen in love a little with She Drew The Gun, the Liverpool-based indie-rock band who are among the UK’s fastest-rising bands. Earlier in the week, they were in Austin at SXSW, showcasing their talents to new fans. They returned to the UK in time to kick off their mini-tour in support of their new album, Memories of Another Future. The first stop was at The Horn in St. Albans.
Just hearing singer Louisa Roach soundcheck, you can see why they won Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition in 2016. As soon as their set begins, you’re led down a dreamy path of politics and poetry with the ever changing backdrop providing a near on hallucinogenic picture.
Near the end, they paid tribute to some of their influences in music with the song “Thank You”, which they recently released on International Women’s Day.
Juicebox Live have been bringing some real talented acts in for their shows, but She Drew The Gun will be one of the best remembered. They have four more shows this week in the UK, and dates can be found here.
