Since 2015, we have asked independent artists to share their favorite memories from their time at SXSW. In just a couple of years, this project has become one of most popular features thanks to the growing interests of bands and singers from around the world. Forty-five artists participated in this year’s edition, including EZA.

An electro-pop artist from Nashville with over 10 million streams on Spotify, Ellery Bonham – aka Eza – is definitely worth a listen.

Meeting up with our Nashville crew in Austin was pretty surreal. We really are like a family in this city. We’ve worked together, toured together, cried together, supported each other. We know everyone’s husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend. It’s just become such a normal part of growing into this community, and to all of a sudden be at SXSW as “The Nashville House,” it just reminded us all of how lucky we are to have each other. I think we all got a lot closer seeing what we’ve built and could bring to Austin.

ROZES tweeted at me after my set, and I had no idea she was at our showcase that night. She’s an artist I really respect, so it was super cool to get a shout-out from her.

Meeting people in Austin who already knew who I was and have been following my career for some time… that is the most wild experience. I was so taken back by the number of people who came for my set and wanted to meet afterwards. In Nashville, you’re almost always playing for your friends and peers, so meeting a follower of your music in a new city… that is crazy.
