Since 2015, we have asked independent artists to share their favorite memories from their time at SXSW. In just a couple of years, this project has become one of our most popular features thanks to the growing interests of bands and singers from around the world. Forty-five artists participated in this year’s edition, including GGOOLLDD.
Since their formation in 2014, the electronic-pop / dream-pop quartet from Milwaukee have grown into one of the Midwest’s must-see groups with their energetic live shows and a popular choice as festival goers’ favorite discovery. It is not just their dance-inducing music that gets people on their feet, but they’re one of the most fun-loving, affable bands around. GGOOLLDD, who are Margaret Butler, Nick Ziemann, Mark Stewart, and Nick Schube, share their three favorite memories of SXSW.
1) Playing at The Mohawk!
2) Finding this cool, gold dinosaur thing with a plant growing inside of it at Cheer Up Charlie’s.
3) Meeting this nice unicorn man! (see pic)
