The weather for the final day of Rockfest was perfect, possibly even a little too hot in the afternoon. Concert-goers enjoyed the cooling spray of the fire hose at the day’s most oppressive moments to keep from overheating.

The bands on offer for Saturday covered many metal and punk sub-genres as well as a double dose of alternative rock and comedy-rock. The Used, The Faceless, Municipal Waste, Atreyu, and Lamb of God represented the heavier side while Jimmy Eat World delivered more radio-friendly fare.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass’s Tenacious D brought a lighter side to the festival before handing off to Steel Panther, who escalated the over-the-top silliness. Steel Panther parodies glam-metal by actually becoming one of the best glam metal bands in the world, or so they claim.

The main stage’s final show was Weezer, who, with their set, proved why they have had such success and longevity by powering through many of their biggest hit songs and inspiring the crowd to sing along. With that awesome finale, unfortunately, the 13th edition of Rockfest came to a conclusion, leaving us all with great music memories.
