Dina’s Favourite Photos of 2018

Like years past, this year I saw my share of shows. Being a contributor to The Revue, I am fortunate in that I can mesh many of my favourite things: live music, event photography, and gathering with friends. For the third year, I was able to photograph a pair of recognized and respected international music festivals as approved media. However, I also attended some smaller-scale festivals and arena shows in Ontario, which are always an enjoyable experience.

For me, selecting a sampling of favourite photos is a daunting task. I have mercurial tendencies and my moods waiver with the wind. That said, what follows is a mix of 25 images that hold some appeal for me, either in that they jostle free fond memories, they photographically “speak” to me, or hold some intangible appeal. Most are derived from festivals and run the range of enormous outdoor affairs to small hole-in-the-wall bars (the best kind, to my way of thinking).

The images were taken at The Dakota Tavern, Dragon Boat Festival, Phoenix Concert Theatre, Osheaga Music & Arts Festival,  Newport Folk Festival, and TD Place Stadium.
