Louis Berry is a switch blade songwriter with a voice of soul who channels the raw power of legends such as Johnny Cash as well as modern-day raconteurs like Alex Turner in his storytelling.

The Liverpool native is now releasing the track “25 Reasons” on his own label Cuban Records. It’s an escape artist’s tale: a sarcastic twist on love’s emotions, delivered in a raucous three-minutes. It has the feel of a rip-roaring spaghetti western, and for Canadian music fans it has the cathartic feeling of July Talk.

Berry has received play on BBC Introducing with his last track “.45” from last year and received support from Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens.

You can hear his new track “25 Reasons” and 19 other tracks on the May 22nd Edition of the Weekend Showcase.
