AMETHYSTS have been creating captivating synth-pop since the duo emerged on the scene in 2016. We have been following Clarice and Simon since their debut, “This Love”, was released. Named after the duo’s birthstone (they were both born in March), their love for shiny gems is a given. On “Pressure Makes Diamonds”, the duo present one of their most dance-ready tracks. There is a bit more of an experimental feel on this track which continues to evolve their sound with each new release.
The constant in each track is always Clarice’s angelic vocals, which soar effortlessly along the futuristic production. The lyrical message is positive and uplifting. The duo share their meaning behind the track:
“When you become a diamond you’ll see why life had to pressure you; you wouldn’t be a diamond without having been through all the rough.”
Their newest single release is the first track off of their upcoming debut album release which should be out sometime later this year.
