My day 2 continued with Alvvays. I had just seen them in Ottawa a couple weeks earlier but they were excellent so I was looking forward to a repeat helping. Speaking of repeat helping, I was also up for another repeat helping of Interpol‘s solid rock.
I’ve been hearing so much about Patrick Watson in my circles that I decided to stick around to see what the hype is all about, and I wanted to stay nearby for Weezer anyway. I’ve mentioned sometimes sacrificing acts you love to see new acts. I did exactly that during Weezer’s last performance at Bluesfest, but in hindsight it was a mistake. I made up for it by catching their entire set this time.
After Weezer I caught the second half of Nothing‘s set. I had researched them when I saw them on Osheaga’s schedule so they were an act I wanted to try to catch.
Kendrick Lamar is not really my style but clearly I was in the minority because the crowds going the other way on my way over to the back stages were incredible. The biggest I saw the entire festival. It did make my change easier though. Although admittedly I was not a huge Caribou fan it was the artist I was most interested in. I must give credit where it is due, although not a huge fan, by about the 3rd song in, they had me hooked and I greatly enjoyed their set and added some more Caribou music to my personal collection upon my return home.
