One of our favorite discoveries this year was a band that flew under the radar last year, Balancer. A three-piece band with members from Colombia and Puerto Rico. We were drawn to their music because of its positive energy. In the time since their last release, their drummer, Gabriela Jimeno, started a solo project called Ela Minus.
On “Jamaica”, the first single from Ela Minus, Jimeno brings those positive vibes to her solo project. It’s an upbeat track with gorgeous vocals in Spanish. Along with some really awesome synth work and really catchy percussion. Check it out above (audio) or below (video), you’ll dig it.
