SXSW 2018 – Band Picks – Friday March 16

by

SXSW 2018 has been great so far. Todayy has so many great bands/artists playing, it is hard to narrow it down. We just have a couple of more days left of the festival. For tonight we have listed two showcase options – one where you must have a badge or wristband, and one where you can just pay cash at the door. Actually at most places it has been credit cards only – no cash accepted. The cash would be good for parking.

Just remember to be careful and make sure you have plenty of money for parking or download the Uber, Lyft or Ride Austin app if you are into ride sharing (Expect to pay a premium especially after hours). Also, don’t forget about Pedi-Cabs, too. Biking is also a cool option as parking is limited and there is a lot of ground to cover. If you click on the band name it takes you to their bio and showcase info on the SXSW page. If you are not able to catch them tonight, more than likely your favorite band might still be playing tomorrow. The festival overall has felt more independent this year and not overly crowded. It feels so far that SXSW is back to truly discovering indie music instead of the mass commercialized spectacle it was in years past.
