Lower Dens – “Ondine”

by

“Ondine” is the new single from Baltimore indie band, Lower Dens. Since the release of their debut album, Twin-Hand Movement, many of us became fans. Their awesome sophomore album, Nootropics, only solidified our fandom. Now with a third album on the horizon, Escape from Evil due out in less than three week (March 31) on Ribbon Music, we’re getting excited.

“Ondine” is raising the anticipation. The dark, melodic synth-rock track – which must be a trademark of the Baltimore music scene with the likes of Beach House and Celebration – is stunning and hypnotic, grabbing your attention like Wild Beasts’ music. Jana Hunter’s deep voice is captivating and the musicianship of Geoff Graham, Nate Nelson, and Walker Teret is perfectly subtle yet sublime.

Pre-order Escape from Evil at Ribbon Music, iTunes, and Amazon. Also below from the new album is “To Die in LA” (audio and the cool video).

“Ondine” is on the March 13th Edition of the Weekend Showcase, which is a weekly playlist of some of the best new music from the indie world.
